It's a very worthwhile project, so do get involved if you can. For some extra inspiration, check out this short video -- ahamoment.com/pg/moments/view/4895 -- which tells the story of a family who moved into Habitat for Humanity home, and how it changed their lives. The dedication of their house was an "aha moment" that I think you'll enjoy.
