Fast. Skip at least one meal in solidarity with the nearly 1 billion people who go to bed hungry each night. (As possible depending on health ... consult your doctor if in doubt)
Witness. Participate in an online advocacy action promoting our government's fulfilling its promises to achieve the Millennium Development Goals. More than 1,000 people have already made this commitment, and we're just getting started. Check it out and sign up today.
The Rev. Canon Karl Ruttan and diocesan staff have prepared a series of reflections and meditations to beginwith the day of Prayer, Fasting and Witness for the Millennium Development Goals on Sept. 25. On this day and the nine days following, the bishops and staff invite the diocese to observe a time reflection on reconciliation and justice. Prayers and scripture passages will be available for meditation each of the nine days leading to the Day of Repentance on October 4. These meditations can be downloaded by going to the Public Policy page of the diocesan website. www.episcopal-dso.org.
